El Nino has brought us an early spring, and the forecast continues to call for a warmer, drier month. A great chance to get out in the garden and Dig in! Save $2 on organic Fertilizers this month when you purchase with your plants. February is definetely Bareroot Time, click here for our 2010 Bareroot list along with planting directions for trees, shrubs, fruits, berries, and roses. They are ready to go into the ground now! Look for buy more, save more combo deals on both fruit trees and roses, as well as all of our organic soil ammendments ! Mason Bees have also just arrived. An early spring also means now is an excellent time to start your annual Lawn Maintenance programs. Apply pelletized lime aka Garden Pearls calcium carbonate along with our Dr. Earth Super natural Lawn Fertilizer and you will be well on your way to a beautiful. If you are not planning on overseeding, you can also apply a pre-emergent for the weeds that are already starting to germinate like organic Weed Prevent Plus. Finally, don't forget the Sluggo, along with those plants breaking dormancy are tiny little baby slugs that can eat more than their parents and devour tender shoots as soon as they come up. Under the "find people" tab enter "Countynursgift" . Click on our picture and after we come up, hit the "follow button" at the top left of the page. You will then begin to receive "Tweets" from us about what is happening at the nursery sent either to your email or even to your phone as texts (if you set it up that way). Tweets will contain much more timely info than the monthly email ~ i.e `New shipment of blueberries have arrived` or `Severe frost warning - cover your plants` or `Time to bait for slugs`... `prune roses`etc.~
